“PORTRAIT OF NEPAL” PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
At CENTRO LAME in BOLOGNA, SEPTEMBER 14–16
A vivid, moving exhibition whose images tell the story of a people and their everyday lives. “Portrait of Nepal” offers a spare yet powerful narrative: facial expressions, clothing colors, and the simplicity and immediacy of the photographs portray a modern country still steeped in ancient traditions and culture. The exhibition, organized by Fondazione Irma Romagnoli with IGD S.p.A., will run from Friday, September 14, to Sunday, September 16, in a temporary exhibition space at Centro Lame, Via Marco Polo 3, Bologna. Located along the shopping corridors near Libreria Coop, it showcases photographs that capture the soul of the Nepalese people.
The photographer is Italian-born Robi Rubiolo, who has lived in Nepal since 1974. Deeply attached to his second homeland, he puts his commitment to solidarity into practice through a project with Fondazione Irma Romagnoli in Bologna. This special form of child sponsorship supports promising young people from financially struggling families so they can continue studying at high-quality schools.
On Saturday, September 15, at 5 p.m., an accompanying discussion entitled “Alchemies of Nepal” will explore this distant country and its people. Participants will include Robi Rubiolo, sharing forty years of experience there; Dr. Erus Sangiorgi, President of Fondazione Irma Romagnoli; and actor Patrizio Roversi, who shared an important experience in Nepal with them.
With thanks to Vivaio Vignudelli Dario for its cooperation.
