Project Nepal and the Irma Romagnoli Foundation
The Foundation intends to support the needs of the primary school in Sanupati, Ramechhap, Nepal. Following a site visit in November 2022, we asked the school administration to submit a request outlining their needs.
With the help of Kapil Kathri—who lives in Kathmandu and knows the region well—the Foundation will purchase the requested school supplies and clothing from a wholesale warehouse in Kathmandu and deliver them directly to the school.
It will be the Foundation’s responsibility, in collaboration with the school administration, to identify students with strong learning aptitude and to arrange scholarships with their families to enable them to continue their studies when the families cannot afford to do so.
We are also considering the possibility of setting up a school transport service to enable students to continue their education after completing primary school. The secondary school is several kilometers away from the village—about a three-hour walk—and this often leads families to cut their children’s schooling short.
