I, MAURIZIO FOCCHI, born in Rimini on March 1, 1953, as President and Legal Representative of Cittadinanza Onlus, tax identification number 91062230403, with its registered office at via Cornacchiara 805, 47824 Poggio Torriana (Rimini), hereby submit a

REQUEST FOR FUNDING

for our project in Ethiopia, through which Cittadinanza Onlus provides care and rehabilitation for more than 200 children with disabilities or neurological disorders.

During 2020, the project enabled the identification of almost 100 children with various disabilities in the areas of Dilelle and Tulu Bolo, respectively 15 and 30 km from St. Luke Hospital in Wolisso, where Cittadinanza Onlus works in partnership with Doctors with Africa CUAMM. Some children have accessed hospital services, while others receive rehabilitation at home. Their families and rural communities also participate in public awareness-raising activities. In addition, the St. Luke psychiatry clinic provides more than 1,000 consultations each year for children and adolescents diagnosed with epilepsy. The project ensures that these consultations and medications are free of charge. In response to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ethiopian government introduced containment measures that slowed home-based activities. These were replaced by an emergency campaign which, thanks in part to Fondazione Irma Romagnoli’s significant contribution, provided 49 families with access to food and healthcare supplies. Meanwhile, hospital physiotherapy and care for children with epilepsy continued without interruption.

A detailed report on activities and expenditure will be available at the end of January.

On behalf of the association, I therefore request a contribution of €10,000.00 to support our activities in Ethiopia in 2020.
