I, Danillo Rasia, as President and legal representative of this Association, hereby submit a request for a contribution toward the 2018 “In the Saddle” equine-assisted rehabilitation project for children and adolescents with disabilities, led by Dr. Mazzotta at the Centro Ippico Bolognese in Rastignano, in accordance with the arrangements agreed last year.

The final expenses incurred during 2018 were:

– Società Ippica Bolognese, receipt no. 111 dated June 16, 2018: €1,155.00

– Società Ippica Bolognese, receipt no. 231 dated December 9, 2017: €1,320.00

These expenses complete the 2018 program, for a total of €2,475.00.
Copies of the payment receipts are enclosed.

As a reminder, in 2018 the project was again jointly supported by the Department of Mental Health’s Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry unit (NPIA), which covered staffing costs. The host equestrian center’s fees were to be covered partly by families, but to an even greater extent by your Foundation’s valuable contribution, with our Association providing coordination and administrative support.

As we plan for the current year, 2019, we hope you will renew your support so that other children and young people with disabilities can benefit from the project under the expert guidance and supervision of Dr. Giovanna Mazzotta, neuropsychiatrist and equestrian coordinator.

Following the Department of Mental Health’s withdrawal of support through an inexplicable unilateral decision, we intend to seek other sources of co-funding independently, hopefully to supplement a possible contribution from you. Our Association will pursue this jointly with the Hippo Vie association, whose president is Dr. Mazzotta herself.

We firmly believe that we must continue this outstanding project, perhaps unique in Italy for the two areas of professional expertise it brings together. Its excellent results and the strong satisfaction expressed by many families over its five years will be presented at an event to review and relaunch the project. We are organizing an evening seminar and social gathering on February 22 and would be delighted if you could attend. A formal invitation will follow.
