Hello, Irma Romagnoli Foundation,
How are you? We hope you are well. These months have been truly challenging for everyone. We should have been in Nairobi right now. With us would have been volunteers visiting the project and neuropsychologists ready to work with the Paolo’s Home team on the children’s assessments.
This week brings a little sadness, as we long to return to the field, think of the children and their mothers, and look forward to once again introducing people to such a wonderful, multifaceted project.
But there is good news too!
Activities at Paolo’s Home have resumed!
Here are the first photographs from the centre’s reopening, with individual sessions by appointment only and all the necessary measures to operate safely and continue supporting the children!

The mothers in the rotating savings and loan group started meeting again a couple of weeks ago, keeping their distance and wearing masks.
Individual educational sessions with teacher Carole have also resumed, by appointment only, along with physiotherapy services with Dominic.
Our lives in Italy are gradually returning to a “new normal”, but in Ethiopia they still need us!

While activities at the Nairobi centre are gradually resuming, children with disabilities in Ethiopia remain extremely vulnerable.
The country has declared a state of emergency until September. We are distributing parcels of food, soap and masks to help them survive this emergency.
We still have a long way to go, but together we can do it!
If everyone receiving this email donated €10, within a few days we could support all the families of children with disabilities facing the greatest difficulties, even beyond the emergency period.
The first distribution of flour, oil, pulses, masks, soap and sanitiser has already taken place, but we are still far from our target!
Donate a parcel now with everything needed to help Amina and other children with disabilities near Wolisso avoid hunger and protect themselves from infection.
