Press Release: Un Amore di Sfoglia
“Un Amore di Sfoglia” is a competition for young people with disabilities, taking place on October 2 at 3 p.m. in the elegant Galleria Acquaderni, between Via Rizzoli, Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, and Via Oberdan.
Devised by Fondazione Irma Romagnoli as part of Bonomia Civitas Docta, within Sfoglia Bologna and the Wine Food Festival, the initiative will involve 20 young people in a fun two-stage competition. First, participants will roll out pasta dough prepared for them through the generous cooperation of Alessandra Spisni and her Vecchia Scuola Bolognese. A panel including Foundation President Dr. Erus Sangiorgi and Alessandra Spisni will select the best sheet of pasta. Its maker will receive €1,000 and a certificate from Fondazione Irma Romagnoli. The second challenge will follow with the Accademia Petroniana del Convivio, chaired by Isabella Quadri di Cardano. Wearing aprons supplied by the academy and bearing its logo, participants will make a giant stuffed tortellone. A panel including Isabella Quadri di Cardano, Alessandra Spisni, Franco Macchiavelli, and Erus Sangiorgi will judge the best entry. The winner will receive an academy certificate and a sketch by Francesco Sforza with a mat customized by designer Oscar Santagata.
A special “Most Likeable Pasta Maker” prize will be awarded by the Compagnia dell’Arte dei Brentatori to the most engaging participant, who will also be named an honorary Brentatore and receive its beautiful ceremonial collar.
Institutional representatives will attend the awards, including Maurizio Cevenini for the Municipality of Bologna and provincial councillor Graziano Prantoni.
